Highway passing power: P85D vs. P85+

The passing speed difference between a P and an S played a part in my best mistake ever. Three years ago we were looking at the torque output curves for the different models. The P seemed to still have extra power to 55 or 60 mph. I decided that passing on country roads quickly was a safety feature and this helped me to justify the P. It is not faster on the torque curve over 60 mph. It is at 45 mph. It is however insanely fast at passing cars going 55 mph. I am at 85 and past the car before I can think. There is no need for this fast passing. I was very worried due to other electric cars about being slow. I choose the P.

I love this car.
