The list is now
58 users strong, and I edited the latest entries of the last month, see below. Still some yellow areas with information missing, go have a look.
Anyway, good things must come to an end.
Well for me, I am quite busy with job, family, home, the EV community, renewable energy projects and more - and I will need to back off maintaining this list. I have spent quite a lot of hours over time, to track the ordering and introduction of the Tesla Model S into the Hong Kong market, myself taking delivery exactly 2 months after the first Signatures were delivered, 21 months after I put down my deposit.
I hope someone will volunteer to take over the reigns and make a new thread, start from a fresh with
"2015 Hong Kong Model S deliveries" or similar, to distinguish it from this thread.
"You may edit your posts" it says at the bottom of this page. Despite that, I seem to be unable to edit any posts at the moment. My private messages had hit the 250 limit, once again, and though cleared out now, I still can't edit - the Edit box just isn't there for me to click (tried another browser also). When able, I will update post #1.
The list you see in post #1, and those posted now and then, are made in a spread sheet in Google Docs, then "printed" to grab a screen shot I can post here. Now and then I posted the updated list - like in this post - so if you go back, you can see historic snapshots in older posts of this thread. I still have all the previous screen shots, should anyone be interested in making some kind of history trackback. I was thinking of doing a video of them, seeing how the list would grow. It would have been interesting but time limits what a man can do. I will probable do a few more changes to the list, but don't expect me to be as responsive as I have been.
From now on, I will focus more on the
charging infrastructure (mainly of Hong Kong), and where the
energy is coming from. We need to lobby for better legislation with regards to
wind turbines and solar power (electric, as well as thermal). We need to break free of the dependancy of importing so much energy (and water, food etc as well, really). There are so many surfaces that could host solar PVs, and many mountains and hilltops that could be planted with wind turbines. Although some don't like the look of wind turbines, they sure beat the choking cloud of combusted coal and oil.
As for charging infrastructure, please help focus on the
"Open Charge Map" app which is available for popular smartphone platforms like iOS and Android. There is also a web based interface on
Open Charge Map - The global public registry of electric vehicle charging locations . Please support it, you can add information directly from your phone,
while you are sitting in your car and charging or taking a rest somewhere else. Take a walk outside, take some pictures, note down the parking fees and opening hours. How to find the entrance, and the charging spots themselves. Currently, only a few people seem to use Open Charge Map (OCM), while even fewer seem to help to update it. Please part-take, and make the EV experience better for all of us.
Here's to the great success of EVs in Hong Kong, and the world in general.
