I live in Baton Rouge and my Y was delivered to my house. I found it to be a very good event. The car did stay at one of the Houston service centers a few days longer while they lined up a delivery carrier. But that may have worked to my advantage as my car had zero deficiencies. All panels were aligned to "my specifications" and I found nothing to complain about. You will find that Tesla can not issue a temporary tag for a Louisiana car. So if you go to Atlanta you will have to drive back to Baton Rouge without a temp tag. I estimate you will get stopped 2 to 3 times along I-10. Also, you will not be able to get a temp tag until Tesla sends you the registration papers. Your mileage my vary!! Good luck!
