Home HPWC & Charge Port Mystery

Here is the mystery:

1) My home HPWC consistently opens Model S's with the old (not auto close) charge port (I tried with two loaners)
2) My home HPWC intermittently (as in rarely) opens the charge port on my Feb '15 Model S (with the newer auto close charge port)
3) My car's charge port consistently opens with (newer) HPWC or UMC at Tesla SC.

Any insights would be much appreciated!

Have you tried resetting the HPWC? Tesla is pretty good about warranty charger stuff. I bet they would help out and replace the HPWC.. They replaced my UMC out of warranty..

Does your door open consistently for other chargers, such as a Supercharger? I'm wondering if the issue is in your car, not in the HPWC connector.
