I had to request mobile service to active mine. They came and hooked up a laptop to tell my car I now had the homelink. So there was nothing wrong with the unit I bought and installed, but in retrospect I should have just bought it from Tesla and had them install it. In any case it took about five minutes for them to do it. It’s really annoying that the car won’t just recognize that it has been installed or let us add it from the service menu.
