E NOT Model E
Ford doesn't call their pickup Model F-150 or vans Model E-250, just F-150 and E-250.

Wiki: From 1980 to its 2015 discontinuation, the E-series van was the best-selling full-size van in the United States, holding a nearly 80% share of the segment.

For 2019, the E-Series lineup has been reduced to offer Cutaway versions only

I didn't know it was discontinued.

Ford Transit replaced the vans.

Not sure I'm understanding what you posted about. If it is about Ford trucks and Honda cars it is irrelevant. However Ford will have a Trademark on "E-250" and the Honda is an "E". So what are you asking?

Here is a list of all Ford Trademarks.

That's interesting about their "MODEL E" trademark and what it applies to. Has anyone ever seen any clothing branded as such?

Even more interesting is that the two challenges to Tesla's choices for an automobile model name are for prior use in something completely unrelated to automobiles, namely clothing: Ford with Model E and Adidas with their 3-stripe logo. At least Adidas does actually sell products using the prior art they are claiming in their copyright infringement case.

Test drove one. It was a lot of fun. Great interior. The autopilot works really well too, you just turn it on and it quietly does it's thing without lots of noise or needing to keep pressing the button every time it disengages. You just make your turn or lane change and it settles right back in immediately. Didn't crap out once either.

Anyone see Yamaha get their shorts all bunched up - when GM used a yamaha branded name? the "Bolt" ??

Well - alright then.

FYI Chevy did have to get permission from Yamaha to use the Bolt name, I assume such permission probably involved cash. There's less of a concern for market confusion between a motorcycle and a car though, so Yamaha was probably a little less reserved sharing the name.

As for why Honda could use Honda E and Tesla had to back away from Model E, Ford didn't trademark "E" as has been suggested. Ford had an early trademark on re-introducing the "Model T" as an electric brand, and argued that "Model E" was too similar, and with both being, at the time, potential EVs, market confusion would be much more likely than the case of Yamaha and Chevy. Interestingly Ford filed for a trademark on "Model E" AFTER Tesla abandoned the Model E due to the Ford Model T fight, but ultimately Ford abandoned the rebranded Model T AND the Model E naming conventions all together to go with Mach-E, likely because of Tesla's association with the "model" form of branding (or they may still be planning on doing something in the future with Model-T, like they did with Mustang?).

Anyways, long way of saying Honda E doesn't create any concerns of market confusion with any of the above mentioned naming conventions, so its pretty free and clear.
