The future of EVs is open - I selected 10+ years but time will show what options come later. I can imagine myself still having the car after 10 years, but I can also imagine trading it in with a Model X or even the Gen III. Or something else. Make a 4-wheel drive, convertible version, 0-100 in 3 seconds, available in mirror chrome paint - and see if I can resist that!
Same here, 5 to 7 years for me. As long as the performance of the car isn't significantly compromised with time I suspect any upgrade / replacement will be a function of what is available in the future.
My son is already bugging me for P85D. According to Musk Promises 90% Autopilot for Teslas in 2015, Doesn't Say How - IEEE Spectrum, I would wait until 90% auto pilot version is released. Since I have so many EVs, it would make sense to sell the 2012 P85. If the 2015 90% auto pilot is real, that equates to 3-4 years of ownership.
when I get my it will be 5 to 6 years. If any of you guys what to sell in 2015. I be very happy to buy it off you.
