I agree about the donation model. You might end up being in the hole way less $ for the electricity given the savings of a simple non-networked L2 EVSE vs. the others that are big $ and have subscription fees (e.g. Chargepoint).

When browsing Plugshare before, I found this church example: PlugShare.

I just found PlugShare which has Chargepoint and charges $. For those w/OBCs capable of 6+ kW, that's actually a pretty good price by California standards. If each handle has its own 40 amp feed and can output a full 30 amps (instead of power sharing being turned on), I can't charge that cheap at home in PG&E-land.

I would suggest inviting in ChargePoint to come in and set up a couple of stations on their network..
Chargepoint is way expensive. I don't know off the top of my head if Chargepoint has a public price list but https://www.amazon.com/ChargePoint-CT4021-GW1-Electric-Vehicle-Charging/dp/B01A5WE0QC currently shows $7.2K for a gateway station and $6.7K for a non-gateway. I believe you need one with a gateway (which has a cellular radio) and the others within range can be non-gateway.

AFAIK, they (non-gateway to gateway stations) communicate with something similar to Zigbee (short range wireless networking protocol that allows for mesh networks), except they don't use that name. (We have a dozens of CT-4000 stations at my work and I've talked to the Chargepoint techs that came out when we had CT-2xxx stations and had to get their cellular radios upgraded. Only a few of our stations are gateway stations. The rest are not.)

I also don't know if Chargepoint publicly publishes their subscription fees like page 7 of https://www.cityofberkeley.info/Cle...tem_31k_Fees_for_Use_of_Electric_Vehicle.aspx. It mentions $230 per port per year for network service fee and $375 for maintanence per port per year "Assumes annual dual-port charging station maintenance of $750".

Also see pricing on pages 19 and 20 of http://pompanobeachfl.gov/assets/docs/db/meetings/cra/board/2.16.16/items/3.pdf.
