If he drove one he would not want a refund!

I drove a brown P85 on a work trip out in the Bay area. I can say for sure that once I put down a deposit, it will not be getting refunded. I am trying my best to be patient and wait out my current LEAF lease (and save a little more money) before taking the plunge.

Any chance you will have your brown Model S at C&C this weekend? If I could promise her there will be a brown Model S there, she might actually ride over with me.

Yes, Gnelson has a brown with gray wheels that he is bringing.

I will be there, but I drove it back from Austin and didn't have a chance to get it washed.

@Nice, Keith - Beautiful cars guys, is it that much easier to keep clean and wash with the opticoat? Did you have it applied over your clearbra?
Skintrade, I've got a white Tesla. It just looks pearl

Keith, I hope you don't mind, but I took a couple pictures of our opti-coated Teslas.
Good point made! The Pro version is only available through 2 authorized Opti-Coat Pro installers in Houston.

John the Opti-coat guy will be attending this Saturdays 7/6 Cars&Coffee event. I'll bring my White Model S to show.
His cell phone # is 832-264-0670
You can call or text him for appointments since he only works on cars on the weekends.

There were 8 Teslas at today's Coffee and Cars event. 7 Model S and a Roadster. It was a lot of fun to talk Tesla and see others cars. You should join us next month. Lets fill the parking lot with Teslas!

As NICE stated, thanks to everyone for turning out today--we set a record for vehicles and had a lot of great conversations. We had a good mix of colors (Sig Red, Green, Blue, Brown, White, Gray + a British Racing Green Roadster). We saw the installation result of the hub stickers, Alloygators, and Opti-Coat, and on NICE's car custom headlights and rear license plate LEDs--not to mention a new way to install the toll tag that works! Overall, it was great to meet the new owners!

Still early, first 5 cars to arrive (BTW, I got there at 5:30am, and I only beat the GT-R guys by about 10 minutes):

An SUV was already parked in one of 'our' spots, so we parked the Roadster in front:

You don't see @suegie's car in this photo--given the SUV, we parked her opposite from us (still close). Let's go for 10 cars next month--one in every color!

Here's some more pictures of the C&C event 7/6. There is definitely a lot of interest in the Teslas.

I also wanted to thank "kalikgod" who showed up in a Tesla shirt and thus fielded a lot of questions for us.

Here's a picture of Stephen behind his Signature Red.

Hey anyone had any real body work done on their S? I have a door dent that I have been ignoring for too long. I know Hanley Brother's is a recommended shop, but I'm hoping there is an alternative by now. I'd like to get two quotes or at least hear from someone who's used Hanley's.

Sorry I missed the C&C. Would love to see all those S's in one place! :)

@Skintrade
It's extremely easy to keep clean, nothing sticks to it. Minor road dirt and dust won't stick to it, and even if it's dusty after parking somewhere, all the dust is gone by the time I get home. I haven't had to wash it yet since I had the work done last weekend. John also gave me a bottle of a something that he mixes himself, and I've used that to get rid of fingerprints and smudges from people touching the car. I didn't have the clearbra installed, so you'd have to check with John on that. If you follow the link to his site that I attached on the earlier post, he's very good about answering questions and getting back to you quickly (I had tons of questions before I got it done, and he patiently answered the many emails).

I think Richey Collision is the best. They matched the 50th Anniversary Red paint on my 2003 Corvette. Most dealers could not match that paint on other 2003 50th Anniversary Corvettes.

The event was quite enjoyable. I really enjoyed meeting all the Tesla owners and potential owners. I also learned quite a lot. I was lucky to be able to pick your brain as you are so knowledgeable. The only thing unpleasant about the event was the horrible exhaust racket caused by some giggling juvenile delinquents in a wrapped M5 with a custom license "Evil M".

Can you attach a picture of the dent? You'd be amazed at what those paint-less dent shops can do.

Here's a pic. Hope you can see it ok. It's not that noticeable, but I did take it to a Paintless Dent Repair guy. He said it wasn't a candidate because where the dent was w.r.t. the doors structural members...

gnelson, thanks. I heard of Richey's from someone else too. Actually I think it was the PDR guy. I guess I'll take it to them and Hanley Brothers.

Ouch! That's more than a dent. Looks like you ran into a pole. You'll need a body shop for sure.
Have you thought of taking it to one of the high end dealers body shops? I've had my BMWs repaired at SW Momentum body shop and trust them. I've seen Porsches there, surely they can do Teslas. Where do the Lambos and Ferrarris go for body work?

i normally like a mat black car and saw that M5. The license should have read "Ugly M" cause it was the ugliest BMW there. It looked like they spray painted or burned it.
You could have challenged them to a race and put them in their place! LOL

I had a great time meeting all of you and helping to explain the car. It is really exciting to see people start to understand Model S. It still amazes me how few people actually know what Tesla and the Model S are about. All of you are doing Tesla a great service in bringing your cars out to the show.

One day I will be parked out there next to all of you, in my own S. The LEAF would just be embarrassing to park next to those beautiful Model Ss.

I think that read wrong. I am not at all embarrassed to drive a LEAF. It is a great little car for its intended purpose (entry level, around town). However, from a styling and performance perspective it should not be compared to a Model S.

I also think it would be harder to convince car enthusiasts (like the C&C attendees) of the benefits of an EV if we were showing them a LEAF instead of a Model S.

I installed my own. The installation was easy. The most difficult part is putting the clips into the Alloy Gators. Also be careful jacking the Tesla. I moved from my home to a high rise and gave away my floor jack. I had to buy a bottle jack to install the Alloy Gators. To get enough clearance I drove onto some boards. I also put the Tesla into Jack Mode. I had a 12 volt air compressor that I bought when I switched from runflats on my Corvette to regular tires. You can get a bottle jack and a rubber mallet for less than $25.

RS Wheels will probably install them for a reasonable charge. Just be sure they know how to jack the Tesla up.
