How did your V8.0 update go?

I'm wondering if people have had any problems with the V8.0 update. The reason I ask is that for us poor Kiwis there is no service center or ranger who can fix any corrupt updates or errors should they. We are on our own until Tesla open shop here. But I would be surprised if there were actually any issues. Just being cautious.

I received an update request last night but I can't see anywhere what it is, or if it is v8.0 at all. So I haven't installed it yet.

Speaking with a few other owners here in NZ most people are going to hold off for a week or two in case there are issues. So it would be nice to see a few people say they have had no issues before we hit the go button on V8.0.

I don't believe anyone has it yet. Elon mentioned tonight. Electrek article claimed if you went to a service center wifi you may be able to get it sooner. I'm not that desperate

No one has received 8 yet all updates today are 7.1 2.36.31. This is the latest one and its gone out to all owners as it was a security patch and that's 99.999% what yours is as well so I'd say go for it 8.0 will hopefully start pushing out later today or tonight...

Whenever I update anything, iPhone, PC, Tesla, I restart it first. This prevents any open processes from blocking the installation of an update. So when you get the notice, reboot both screens then apply the update. Certainly can't hurt.

Going by Elon's twitter feed, and assuming 'tonight' is before midnight in USA, then it should start rolling out by 2pm AEST, if my calculation is correct, however 'tonight' could mean in the early hours of the next morning, but again he did say it would start Wednesday in the USA.
So within the next 3 hours ....... maybe ....

V8.0 starts downloading tonight. Release will be gradual to make sure there aren't small regressions. Many car configs, many environments.

So I presume the pending update is still there waiting when you reboot before applying the update?

I dropped into St Leonards just now to pickup the Euro adaptor and made sure to connect to their WiFi. I usually get notified of an update soon after connecting to Tesla's own WiFi so I'm hoping for a geofence-bump today... ;-)

I wouldn't hold your breath. It was supposed to have started rolling out to US cars "tonight". It's already past midnight in the US now but we haven't heard a single report of 8.0 being received.
