Elon said a couple of months ago that they have challenges making the Model X SUV both beautiful and functional. Considering these challenges and the fact that there are considerable delays in the reveal of the Beta, I just wonder how different the finished Model X would be compared to the prototype. Has anyone got examples of a prototype being considerable different to the the finished product?
Model S prototype: http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/01/12/detroit-auto-show-tesla-model-s-prototype/ Compare that with today. Some styling changes but rough shape still there. I don't expect to see the mini-screens on the steering wheel of the white prototype in Fremont in the finished version, and I watched as someone at Teslive kicked the carbon fiber wheel trim off the wheels - that's probably going, too.
