I filled out the information for them to “call me back” 8 days ago. I also gave them my information to value my trade in. After a couple of days I decided to call the number on the page. I waited on hold for 45 minutes to be told that the call me back is the only way to get information about one of the used cars. I am looking for a 2014-2015 P85D and have already missed one that I was really interested in. I’m getting a little frustrated with this process and starting to wonder if I should spend $60k+ on a used car with zero support is the best idea. Is there anything more I can do to get in touch with someone so I can see something other than a stock photo? Thank you.
Welcome to the CPO process. My advice is to buy 3rd party or from a private seller. You won’t get a callback until you put a deposit down on a vehicle. Best of luck with your search.
Ugh, that is what I was afraid of. If I did put a deposit down and wasn’t happy with the car how hard is it to get my money back? I’ve considered third party, but Tesla’s prices seem pretty fair and a 4 year 50k warranty is tough to beat.
I have, I actually put a deposit on the model 3 the first day that was an option. I just don’t like the way it looks compared to the S. It’s a fine car, but it just looks a little boring. I also want the third row option or at least the option of adding a third row in the future that the S provides.
It’s no problem to get your money back or roll it over to another vehicle. They want something to show you’re not wasting their time asking for pictures. Which, for a place that isn’t a “dealership”, sounds very much like something a dealership would do. Personally, I was disgusted with the entire CPO process and I’ll never do it again. I love the car but as soon as BMW has something competitive, I’m out.
Im not going to lie, this CPO process has me worried. I don’t have a problem putting down the $2500 if I’m not locked in if things don’t look right. Maybe the best thing to do is give it 6 months or so for them to realize this system doesn’t work. They are going to kill the used marker value at this rate.
I have been following the process for over 6 months. It has got exponentially worse with no signs of improvement. That trend will likely continue until they stop selling used cars altogether. They clearly have no interest in doing so.
You are not alone in feeling the CPO Program is an awful mess. It's like some perverse social experience to see what's the worst way to treat a customer and still have them buy a car Also be careful as they are selling some cars in pristine conditions and others look so beat up they look like they are from a junk yard. The price is no indication of the condition of the car. Recently someone rejected a car because it was all trashed and beat up and they promptly listed the car back up at a much higher price. Whatever they tell you, get it in writing via email and don't sign any paperwork or pay for the car until you have seen it and looked over the car carefully to make sure there is no damage. Treat the whole transaction like a Craigslist listing by someone you don't know and you will be fine If they present to you a car that is all trashed and damaged, either ask them to fix the damage or reject it. You are paying too much to buy a trashed car.
I have to agree with what everyone is saying. I've been trying to reach the cpo team for a week now! I have my money ready to buy the damn car but just want a confirmation that the car is in good shape (pictures and the normal stuff). I was even in person at the Montreal service center Monday and I simply asked them if the car was located in Montreal (so that I could proactively have a look at it) and no one could tell me where it was! You'd think that a car company would at least know where their cars are located!! I don't know any business that is so unorganized... it's as if they don't want to sell cars! On a side note, does anyone know if they do accomodation sales (where they process the transaction for your previous car between you and another person so that you can save the taxes on the difference). I'm not talking about a trade in with Tesla directly... not sure if this is done in the USA but all of the other dealerships to this in Québec.
