How do I safely disconnect the USB stick in v11?

Have some music I want to add to the USB stick but can't find the proper way of ejecting the USB stick in v11.

As long as you turn off dashcam recording (TeslaCam) you can safely remove the drive at any time since it is not being written to.

Use the manual and search for "Dashcam." Chances are you will learn something you don't know about Dashcam

But to answer your question, go to Controls > Safety

The red dot is lit up ( glowing) in the dashcam if it is active. When it is disconnected ( same as eject from a USB port in PC /Mac) the red dot stops glowing.

NOTE that if you use separate drives for TeslaCam and your music, you do not need to disable the cam. Either way, make sure you aren't in the middle of a song playing on USB.

How do you turn off DashCam on v11?
Can't even tell if it's on.

Easiest way is to press and hold the big button with the camera in the main “Controls” menu. (It’s next to the “Mirrors” button and above the “Sentry” button.)

If it’s currently recording, it will say “Recording” and there will be a red dot in the camera icon. If it’s not recording, it will say “Record” and the camera icon will be greyed out.

If it’s currently record and you simply tap this button (as opposed to press-and-hold), it will save the last 10 minutes of video footage instead of pausing it.

Another way to stop recording is to go into the “Safety” menu, scroll down to “Dashcam”, and change it to “Off”.

This is what I do. I wonder whether pulling it out when a song is playing could cause a problem .

With all of the problems that USB playback has, I try to avoid it out of caution. I just switch to another source.
