When your electrician threw out the box and papers?
I tried to connect to the WiFi but I need the password. How can I get the wireless password since my brilliant electrician threw away the box and paper work ?

Push the button on the handle for about 5 seconds or so and it will cause the unit to start broadcasting its SSID again. Connect to this SSID with your phone. The password you need will be on your connector one the side or the back of the unit.

I do not see any password on the side of the unit, the unit is mounted to the wall so no way to really access the back since this idiot threw away the quick start guide with the password...

From the manual which you can view online here (https://www.tesla.com/sites/default...ng/Gen3_WallConnector_Installation_Manual.pdf) The main unit is separated from the wire box. The password is located on the back of the main unit, so you should be able to unscrew the main unit off the wire box to find it.

I was able to connect to it and view detailed info, then the following day it had updated to the latest firmware. Now I can't see or configure anything unless I activate its "hotspot".

Yes, the latest firmware changed its behaviour.

Seems more like a foot in the door to provide status and get firmware updates. Eventually It will allow for stuff- power sharing, monitoring, or playing some MMO RPG.
