How does Tesla Decide Delivery Center

Hello all,
I was wondering how Tesla decides the delivery center to send your car to. There are two addresses on my account. My primary is a California address while my secondary is an Oregon address. All the documents I sent in where for the California address (do and insurance ) and that is where I want to take delivery. I am just not sure how they will guess where to send the car as I don’t remember filling anything out anything specifically for delivery location.

Thanks ,

For those of you that had home delivery- was that an option when you initially configured? I didn’t see that as an option and the nearest Tesla store is 3 hours away.

I wasn’t asked to pick. I was only asked delivery zip code and it assigned me Costa Mesa when I wanted marina Del Ray!

They try to do the closets one usually. I am in a weird situation where they JUST (Monday 7/9) opened a new SC that is MUCH closer to me than the one were my car is going (as scheduled 3 weeks ago). But, I am thinking I will just keep it the way it is so not to introduce other hurdles, and the SC it is going to is the oldest one in ATL so they likely have the most experience in inspecting/prepping the car for delivery. I will use the closer one for service as needed.

My registration address caused me to have the option of Marina del Rey or Costa Mesa, neither of which is actually near my registration address (easily a 4-5 hour round-trip, depending on traffic). Changing the zip to a SF Bay area zip only gave me the option for home delivery... I'm up in the bay area a lot, so it would be way more convenient to take delivery at the Fremont delivery center (home delivery won't work for me up there), so it looks like I get to call Tesla and see what can be done.

Mine was set for the same SC where I picked up my S. MY 3 was showing the same SC for delivery. A new SC opened within easy walking distance from my house. I called taht SC and they changed the delivery location for me.No problem.

For me living in San Jose, I just assumed that the Fremont delivery center would be the logical choice. And it was. But there was at least one other member here that also lived in San Jose but got home delivery without asking for it. I can't seem to find the thread at the moment but if I find it I'll link to it.

@RayK My home delivery (San Leandro, CA) is this Friday. Is there anything I should do that you think you missed? How long was your delivery? And did your MyTesla show Pier 80 San Francisco, CA as the address? I don't see my home address listed.

My delivery was pretty painless. Took a delivery checklist with me but I skipped a couple of items in my excitement. Made sure the VIN was correct and inspected the bottom of the car as best I could (no issues). Didn't check all panel gaps with a caliper but everything looked fine.

I was at the delivery center for about an hour. Spent about 20-25 minutes going over the paperwork and paying for it (ACH). Half that time I was waiting for the Sales Advisors to figure out why my MVPA total didn't match theirs. I figured it was for transferring my existing personalized plates. 20 more minutes outside looking over the car. They didn't have to spend any time with me explaining how the car works as I told them I had rented one for three days back in January.

As far as any address appearing in my account, it has been my correct home address since day one.

Hmm... now that I think of it, I don't believe I received any copies of the signed documents.

There are both showrooms and delivery centers within about 2 miles of my house, yet "Home Delivery" was the only option when I ordered my AWD-P on 6/26. I figure I'll learn more when I get contacted by the order specialists (which hasn't happened yet).
