I raised in deep snow in stop and go traffic and noticed a while later it had lowered itself - even though I was driving slow.

Does it use time? Distance? A combination?

It's based on speed. The car will lower when you pass speed thresholds.

You can also set it to lower at whatever speed you want it to lower at.

I believe that it will lower from very high at 26 MPH and high at 34MPH automatically. I could be off an MPH or two. Just can't remember. I watch it periodically as I use both higher settings all the time. Low is set in the settings screen.
