How does this work ?

How does a roof made of solar roof tiles work ? I can picture a solar panel or panels generating electricity and transferring it by wire. In the case of many tiles doing this are they all connected to each other by ? and transferring the sum of all electricity generated to storage or an inversion from DC to AC continuously ?

I haven't seen info on where the electricity go yet, maybe some kind of centralized inverter/charger that can work with Powerwall and als Tesla cars, I hope
