How long to hear from a Sales Rep after ordering

Hi gang, I ordered a M3SR+, white and Aerowheels in FL a week ago. When I order my MYLR 5 months ago I heard from the SR the same day and had a VIN match within a day as well.

I know there are delays now, so I haven’t heard from anyone yet and I’m wondering what the timelines are like these days to hear from them and then VIN matching? Thanks in advance.

If you ordered last week, LR’s are projecting delivery in December.

That’s probably why no one is in a hurry to reach out.

I heard from someone within a day, but I did place my order near the end of the quarter so there was some incentive for them at the time. 5 months ago was probably a similar end of quarter thing happening.

I think the wait goes up as the trim level goes down…

So if anyone is still here..... does getting a VIN assigned mean the delivery will be imminent? Everything I learned from my MYLR order and delivery doesn't seem to apply anymore. thanks!

Well I hope not, but that makes sense considering how much less it cost versus other trims and models. Although the performance M3 delivers faster than the LR right now. Same with the MY. Then we also have projected times on the M3, which are much shorter than the MX, MS and MY, so who knows. Maybe price alone isn't the key to speed. Fingers crossed! I got my MYLR in a week, just 4 months ago. Seems like another lifetime at this point!

Was assigned a vin last week, not sure of the day. Current EDD is Aug 16-22. I'll post when I hear from someone/take delivery.

So it took a week to get an EDD for me, which is fine..... just different that previous experience. It says Oct 16 - Nov 05. I ordered on AUG 2nd. Maybe that's progress of sorts, prior to today it didn't even have the EDD. I'll take it as a positive!

Other that the automated text and emails, the only thing I have heard from anyone at Tesla since my order on Jul 26 has been a direct response to me reaching out to them. Even then, responses have been hit and miss. It's a bit frustrating, but I was aware of the issues going into my order.

Trying to even schedule a test drive has been hard. These cars literally sell themselves so there is not much "sales" needed in the sales associate role.

I can second that - I used the website to express interest in a test drive and one of the SA's got in touch quickly but then never followed up to my reply email.

Agree with most people in that Tesla's sell themselves, and a sales associate is practically unneeded!

How has it been going for you since then?

I am supposed to pickup my car on Sunday. Seems strange to pay nearly $44,000 and I have never actually spoken with a person at Tesla. I will call them later today just to make sure I have everything.
