How much do I save in fuel costs over ICE? A lot, but at times it really depends....

A friend, who has a PhD in Electrical Engineering, calculated this "rule of thumb" for comparing the cost of electricity to the cost of gasoline. Multiply the cost per kilowatt hour by 10, and that is the comparable cost of a gallon of gasoline. So the average retail cost of electricity in WA state is $0.12/kilowatt hour, multiplied by 10, is $1.20 per gallon of gasoline. Charging from a public DCQC or Supercharger, the cost of electricity is $0.35 - $0.45 per kilowatt hour, or equivalent to $3.50 - $4.50 per gallon gasoline.

because we didn't pass the trial. Now I hear it is supposed to be available to everyone??
What software version are you on? If you are on 2022.36.xxx or older, you can get it right now... If you are on something newer, like 2022.40.xx, then you'll have to wait for FSD v11, which is supposedly going to release by end of year... Tesla doesn't typically allow you to downgrade firmware, so this is why what version you are on right now is important, in figuring out if you can get into the beta right now.
