How to change range display from percentage to miles? [resolved]

I have a 2018 M3 and we just bought a 2021 M3. I noticed that the new car reports battery range in percentages whereas the old one does it in miles. I would prefer miles, is there a setting for that?

If you have the latest firmware, you can just tap on the text next to the battery to toggle between percentage and distance.

If you don't have the latest firmware, then you can go to the settings and change it there. Open the controls screen, go to Display and then Energy Display.

I don’t like them describing it as an estimate of the distance you can drive, but never mind.

I had forgotten about the new feature involving tapping the battery icon….
