Well yes, that's physics. It sounds like you are starting down a path to try to worry yourself to death about it before it's even begun.

If you drive it, it will lose range.
If you don't drive it, it will lose range.
If it sits, it will lose range.
As time goes by it will lose range.
If it exists at all, it will lose range.

This is just going to happen.
