How to get rid of water spots/etches

I was stupid and used hose water to rinse the car. Also did a stupid thing and washed it in the sun.

I tried using vinegar, Meguirs polisher, both of which helped a good bit but the marks are still there. Some are also etched into the PPF but are easier to remove.

Besides going to a detailer, any other options?

Also about how much would it cost for a detailer?

Optimum MDR worked for me. The linked page has a video on how to use.

You need to get the minerals out before any polishing for etching or it may just come back.

Water spots start as a mineral deposit. Sometimes they can be cleaned off with white vinegar and a microfiber towel or CarPro SPOTLESS works even better, but works best on a CQuartz coated finish. If it doesn't come off with any of these solutions it will likely need paint correction by a professional detailer.

I am planning to use Aero Cosmetics Waterless Car Wash. I used to clean my Toyota Corolla with it and I am really happy with end results. You can use it both waterless or prerinsed. I am going to use it after prerinse for scratch free results.

I think MDR may have stripped away some of the UV coating on the glass roof. I notice that the psychedelic effect is not as pronounced. MDR also didn’t do a great job despite multiple applications.

I’m concerned using CarPro might do the same damage?

What is everyone using other than hose water? I use ONT for small cleaning but had planned on 2 bucket method with hose water. Isn’t that ok as long as you dry it quickly?

Yes, and also don’t wash under directly sunlight.

go to sweet project cars on youtube and search for water spots - easy to remove

If it is on your paint 50% distilled vinegar and 50% distilled water spray on and wipe off and then wash the car
