How to get Trunk Open to display after "P" park?

New owner here... Went shopping, loaded up the trunk. Pulled into my garage, pressed "P", and then could not figure out how to open trunk. The display was showing the proximity to walls around the car, not the standard Frunk, Charging port, Trunk open controls. Is there a sequence or button I need to press to be able to open the trunk before exiting the car?

I've had that happen a couple of random times. It usually sort itself out after a little bit of time. Otherwise you can try the two-button reset (holding down both steering wheel buttons for 15~20 seconds).

Sounds like it wasn't actually in park if it was still showing the ultrasonic sensors.

My signal controller, if pressed quickly, doesn’t always register. Likely same for tapping park button. Give it a firm 1/4-1/2 second push.

Agree with @Mike_TV - did you hear the parking brake set? Otherwise opening the door should also trigger the car to put itself in park and display the trunk controls

I had this happen once as well -- the software isn't properly going into Park mode. Resetting the car with the two button press will fix the problem.

Happens randomly all the time to me as well since the last update. It isn’t normal. Will magically fix itself one day. Reset hasn’t worked for me.

I’ve had this happen too. Always the left signal. Thought it might be defective. Going to flag it for service and see what tresult is.

Just be careful opening in the garage, my door hit the open garage door and got a little paint chip.... Open from the outside handle and grab the door before it hits.

You can set the opening height! Open it to your desired height and then hold the close button on the liftgate for 3 seconds, until you hear a chime. From then on, it will open to that height.

Yes, aware of that, but I rarely open the rear hatch in the garage so I don't bother. Otherwise, it's too low to be useful everywhere else.
