How to keep AC running for passenger if driver gets out of the car

Does anybody know an answer to this? I tried manual but couldn't find anything. If I have a passenger in front or in the back and I want the AC to run even though I left the car, how do you set this up? Every time I leave and close the driver door behind me, AC stops and passengers have to open the door since it get's hot and stuffy.

I tried leaving my phone back so it will not lock, but still AC shuts off.

Any help?

Easiest way without involving the passenger is to use the app and just turn the climate on.

That is exactly what I am doing right now. But thought there would be some setting I'm missing.

I'll try tapping the screen the next time this happens. What I did to resolve was place the "keycard" on the center console. Tapping seems like a better idea.

The X and S have a setting "Keep Climate Control On" that is available while the vehicle is in P. I guess this feature hasn't made it's way over to the 3 yet.

Oh cool, my fiance's bmw i3 has this setting and it's handy when we go run into a store quickly and it's 100+f outside. Hopefully it gets added to the model 3

So after the passenger taps the screen, does it stay on indefinitely or will they have to tap it every x minutes?
