How to make the browser use Wifi when I have Premium Connectivity

I have Premium Connectivity on my Model S, but I am trying to get a Carplay adapter by Roadtop working (
).

The issue is that everything works, till I get to the last step, where the car is now connected to a hotspot Wifi provided by the adapter, but when I go to a specific link that they say one should use to launch carplay, the browser uses LTE and goes to the internet, instead of using the wifi hotspot to to go to the device's captive portal.

Any ideas on how I can make the browser go to the device? I did ask for Premium Connectivity to be canceled to test this out, but it wont discontinue for another 10 days.
