How to remove license plate light housing to install CAN-bus 18-SMD 3W LED

Hello guys,

anyone know how to remove the license plate bulb housing to snap in my new led bulbs. They come with their own housing.

let me know if anyone has done it, thanks!

Just unscrew the two (per side) small Phillips head screws? That’s how easy/straight-forward it was on my ‘14...

I wish it was that easy.... when i take the bulb out, the bulb housing is in the way. i want to replace the entire housing..... see photos

Ah, I see. You’d have the take apart the large part plastic liftgate cover then I suspect. It’d be much simpler to just by LED bulbs. Abstract Ocean has the perfect sized bulbs and it’d be a 5min swap job.

They are all over Amazon eBay.... Apparently they are much more powerful than just replacing the bulbs

Replacement bulbs are plenty bright IMO. These are license plate lights we’re talking about here, not head/fog lights. You don’t need 1000 lumens...
Since you already purchased them, it all depends on how much hassle you want to go through, especially considering these are eBay specials. If they burn out in a couple weeks, you’ll have to take everything apart again to replace.

Yea not installing them. I just put in some LEDs
