Nope. It’s an option. Not in the VIN. And why would anyone PM and not answer right here?
The bottom line is, how could it be in the VIN when it could change by purchasing FSD? Makes no sense.

Supposedly the for the MS the number following the production plant letter (F for Freemont in my case) or 6th from the end, indicates the HW revision level - 2=HW1 3=HW2 or 2.5 and 4=HW3 but this is inaccurate and at some point TeslaFi noted in its account setup that VIN no longer accurately reflected HW revisions levels.
For instance my MS was manufactured in 3/2019 and the VIN indicates HW2 but it is HW3 and was delivered that way to me in June. Even the Austin Tesla SC did not know this because they scheduled me for an upgrade. Only when they put it on their diagnostic did the car show it was already at HW3.0. I received an embarrassed message an hour after I dropped off the car.
