    I've spent the last week talking to many friends/family/coworkers about the Model 3 and I've begun to shorthand the name to "Tesla M3" which I find to be a sleeker name. I know BMW has the M3 but I like the sound of "Tesla M3" a lot more than "Model 3". Does anyone else feel the same way? Or will you simply refer to it as the Model 3?

    I'll probably refer to it as a "Tesla" unless specifically asked in conversation, especially around the house.

    "Hey honey, which car should I take to work? The 4Runner or the _________?"

    Tesla sounds the best.

    De groene en de rode (The green one and the red one).
    Because i buy 2, and i think this is the best thing to seperate them.
    Other suggestion is: De snelle en de langzame (The fast one and the slow one).
    We wil see in 2018 :)

    This. I don't want to be accused of being a pretentious fanboy lol

    iPhone = "phone"
    Tesla = "car"

    Since we have an S and X, it'll follow the same convention as those. "The S," "The X," and "The 3."

    edit: rereading that, I see it was intended for people outside of the family. I was thinking how I'd ask my wife which car she was taking, for instance.

    If the reservations to-date are any indication of the future popularity and game-changing potential of this car, referring to it simply as the "Model 3" should be sufficient, as was the case with the "Model T". No need to even mention the manufacturer's name.

    Tesla because it has fewer syllables than Model Three.

    I've owned two M3's, so definitely not the "M3", which would just be confusing and is sacrilegious to the heritage of the E30 M3.

    I had to do some real convincing to get my wife, Gretchen, to let me put down the reservation deposit as she does not share my fascination with electric cars and Tesla. But she reluctantly said OK, and at zero hour I gave tesla.com my credit card info.

    Then I asked her if she would like to watch the reveal. She did, and her jaw dropped when she saw the car, and she watched many of the ride videos and has become an enthralled fan.

    So at my house, "our" Tesla Model ≡ will be referred to as "Gretchen's car."

    We've named all of our cars in recent memory, so I'm sure the Model 3 will be referred to by name in our household. What that name might be is far less clear until we've gotten to know it better. Our Model S was bestowed with the name Zoe within a few days of brining her home with her prominent "Zero emissions" plate.

    Let's see, there is already the SaaB and the SooB, plus the GT6. Likely 'the car' or 'the Tesla'.
