Well worth it to get the HPWC now and take advantage of the Ontario $1,000 rebate program, which pays up to $1,000 towards the purchase and installation of an EVSE. With the pricing before I would have just setup a NEMA 14-50, but now I think it's a no-brainer to do HPWC and keep the UMC in the car. Awesome!
I've already started a discussion with my Service Center about the bundled-with-car price ($750) vs. the standalone-in-store price ($1200). First response was that it wasn't an error. I've pushed for further discussion with corporate. That said... Any D buyers want to sell me an HPWC for $800? $50 profit! Not sure I want to wait 'til 2015 though....
Hopefully the store changes to match, then. I'll buy one if it's not too much more expensive than a second UMC.
Can you submit for the Ontario rebate if the HPWC is bundled with the car? Has anyone done this under the old pricing?
I could add one onto my order. I didn't order one because I already have one. I am supposed to take delivery in December. Shoot me a PM if interested Brianman.
Very tempting at $750, especially after I left my UMC at home on a road trip, recently. (I didn't need it, fortunately, but I like to have it for peace of mind.)
Just make sure you order it from Tesla Canada and not from Calif. because Ontario will not honour the $1000 rebate as in my case.
Is the Ontario rebate still available if you order the HPWC with the car? or do you need it invoiced separately?
I hope I get billed the new lower price. I ordered with the car and it arrived last week and I installed it. Car is still scheduled for December delivery. Trying to change it to new options list to make sure I get the new Tech Package. Staying with 2 wheel drive.
I guess as long as you can show proof (receipt); in my case, after several talks with the transportation dept. they are giving me $500 rebate instead d/t electrician wiring.
I had thought the old price made sense with the rebates... Now it's an even more sensible thing to do!
