HPWC Port Release Button Not Working

I saw a bunch of earlier notes where individuals were looking at rebooting the car, etc. Or the magnet missing from the door. However, this is not my issue. We have a 3 and a Y and it will not work on either car. Has anyone determined it was the HPWC and discovered a solution - other than buying a new one.

Do you have your phone in your other hand when pushing the charger button?

No, but it is in my pocket.

You may want to try the UMC that came with the car. Even if it is plugged into 110 volt the button should work.

Then you should be able to determine if it is Wall Connector, the car, or your technique.

You might try taking the phone out and holding it to the left of the charge port. Heavy clothing can obstruct the blue tooth (from the phone). At least that is what I've read here. I have my phone in my front pocket and it works all the time.
