Is there a tax benefit for installation of home charging station in addition to $7500 federal credit of Tesla purchase?

Maybe. It depends on your personal income tax situation. You must be above the alternative minimum tax for the credit to impact your income tax liability.

Thanks! Good to have CPA on the forum! ... Now, I have a question to the cardiologist on the forum about cardiac hemodynamic response to ludicrous mode.

Does this mean that I can get HPWC installed and get 30% tax credit?

For some people, perhaps. In my case, the fact I am subject to AMT made the value of the credit zero for me. I don't have the details, it was handled by my tax accountant.

I do not recall the Code mentioning that the EVSE had to be specifically of a certain type or make or configuration. Like with many things, if one would be examined, this would be a facts-and-circumstances hurdle to surmount.

I didn't know a federal tax credit for the HPWC existed, I thought states had their own local rebates. Is this federal tax credit for residential use?

It is not a rebate, you will need to find the correct IRS form and submit it in the tax year that you add the dispenser.

Oh I see, but I can't find the link the form either. The PDF's link to that page don't seem to be the IRS form.
