I think, because of this, TSLA should just close any 'galleries' in problematic states and just open service centers, relying on word of mouth advertising. It should work just fine, it's not like they have a shortage of demand these days.

Well, the NY and MA Dealers Associations have kindly offered to split marketing costs with them in those states.
Well something in these two comments triggered the "Evil Genius" part of my brain. What if Tesla has already factored in the costs of any potential lawsuits and really is just considering it as part of their marketing budget? I think that well done "Service Centers" could fill the need for any touchy-feely requests, although granted they won't be located in high foot traffic malls and such.

I think Tesla has a really strong case due to Car Shows. When a Car Show comes to town, the manufacturers bring & setup demo cars and have Product Specialists available to answer questions. Just like what happens at a Tesla Gallery. If dealers want to stop Tesla from doing a year-round Car Show, then they'll also need to kill all Car Shows, which doesn't seem likely.

That's an excellent idea. They could just have 52 week long car shows a year.

That is awesome Omer, and another thank you to the anonymous Tesla owner! Driving these cars really will sell a ton of them.

As for stepping up marketing, that is the absolute last thing Tesla should be putting any energy or resources.
The most critical thing for Tesla is to continue ramping up production and delivery to the current reservation holders.
Once they have less than a 4-5 month backlog, the I could see some marketing. But I fully expect word of mouth and owners sharing their experience to do all the marketing Tesla needs for at least a year.

Prezakly. And I can't think of another car company that's in the same position, or ever has been!!

I fully agree with this.

I'm thinking that with the Model X, BlueStar, and the Roadster "revival" launches plus any other not-yet-disclosed plans could give Tesla "free advertising" (i.e. stories or at least mentions in the press) for another 3-5 years.
