HVAC - How Long if you set it and don't use the car.

If I use the iPhone app to set the car to a temperature, how long will the car hold that?

20 min? 60? two hours?

forever?

when does the car give up?

Tesla ownership informed me they were going to release a 'Keep the doggies alive' mode in an upgrade soon, that would allow you to change the timeout.

That was back in March 2013. Any day now...

thanks. I'm trying to drain my battery more today, because PP&L has installed a voltage monitor at my house, so I'm trying to increase charge times so we can figure out why I'm having issues at 40 amps.

Also, keep the dog alive would be good.

An iPhone notification every 30 min would be fine, "do you still want to keep HVAC on"... and if no answer in 15 min, shut off...?

You can use a tool like visibletesla to send the HVAC on command every 29 minutes.

And since your car is a US-spec car, you can turn off the DRLs in "camper mode"

You cannot charge in camper mode. This is why I use visibletesla. I can charge and keep the HVAC running while sleeping in the back.

Yes, I ran it from my laptop from within the car, using my phone as a hot spot.
