HVAC not working

The temp sensor not working properly, the soft reset did not resolve the issue. Currently, 64 degrees outside but the car indicating the interior 62 and exterior -28F Had to schedule an appointment to resolve the issue. The heater comes on immediately. Does anyone have the same issue?

How old is the Model Y? Sometimes when the 12V battery starts to fail this can cause sensor errors.

Where you park the Tesla at home have you ever seen any rodents, rodent droppings? It could be that a rodent has chewed a wire.

What happens if you turn the temp all the way up to 'hi' or all the way down to 'cool'? If it's just the temp sensor that should override it.

And the winning answer was rodents. I had not seen many droppings but after a further review found a few. So I will try and get rid of the culprit and the cost to repair was $197. Thanks for responding

OMG!

Hopefully there’s not a particular “flavor” of wires they like in Tesla’s . Some older Toyota Tundras have that issue when parking in the “countryside “, a particular wire wrap attracted rodents.

Think rodent(s). You should probably hire an exterminator to determine the best way to address the rodent problem.

I have done some research on cars and rats and they can do a lot of damage. It is recommended that you spray a peppermint type spray on the undercarriage which I will be doing along with calling the exterminator.

That was my thought, too. Any time you can walk out of a repair shop with a bill under $200 you're doing pretty good!
