Hyundai announces EV in 2016

Probably a SoulEV powertrain with a compact sedan body would be my guess. If they wanted to shake things up, they would put a 40 kWh battery pack in the floor of a Sonata, sell it for 35k, and watch Nissan and GM panic, but I have lost faith that any manufactures outside other than Tesla have any desire to make an EV worth owning at this point. Its a shame that this will probably be half assed, as I own a Hyundai, and think very highly of it. They make a pretty decent car for the money, and an EV offering from them could really push EV adaptation forward.

At that point you are getting close to when Tesla Gen3 will begin production, and therefore you will have an EV from Tesla that is price-competitive with pretty much every EV in the market, except that it has more than double the range and is better in pretty much every feature and measurement you can come up with.

I am going to stick with Tesla for now.
