    The EPA mostly relies on figures provided by manufacturers - only 10-15% of all cars are actually tested by the EPA:

    I always seem to need to lift up on scales. Say when you check a bag at the airport and you notice it goes to 52. A little toe can put that bag at 49 lbs pretty easily.

    Then I request they put a heavy bag tag on there anyway.
