Moving this discussion over from Supercharger - Coeur d'Alene, ID - Page 8:

In Gillette, from Google maps it looks like the area around Exit 126 has lots of parking and restaurants to accommodate a.Supercharger. Also, there is a Holiday Inn Express in the neighborhood - might that not be an opportunity for a destination HPWC, so that Tesla drivers on this cross-country route could plan to stop there while it takes some indefinite period of time to get a Supercharger in the city? A HPWC in Gillette could be up and running in weeks.

These discussions have already taken place with a Model S owner who owns several hotels in Gillette, as well as Sheridan. I'm in contact with both parties. The pace has been frustrating, to say the least.

Have any of the hotel owners in Sheridan or Gillette considered or applied for Tesla's Destination Charging program?

Perhaps we could get some crowd funding going for the HPWC installs under the Destination Charging program? How about a three way match program with Tesla and the hotel each matching the Tesla Owners crowd funding for installation costs. This could be some interesting synergy. As an example, let's say that the installation cost of two HPWC's at a hotel is $2,400, then if the Tesla crowd could raise $800, and the hotel owner and Tesla each match that with $800. These seem to be all relatively modest and tractable numbers with all three parties showing interest, support, and commitment with monetary involvement.
