I can't shift into gear fast enough. Fix it.

But that doesn't always work, the car needs a second or two to get going before it'll change gears, so that means I have to pause and keep my foot on the brake and go back and shift from P to R or D again before it'll go into gear.

I think only after HV Power on,you can shift from P to R or D。when you press the brake ，Power on in progress(about 500 ms)，during this time ,you cannot shift.

I just got off the phone with Elon...he pushed a fix to just your car. You should be good to go now.

I came here to post this exact same thing! Something changed with 2018.26.2 or .3. I've only had the car a few weeks, but when I first got it I could do a simultaneous brake pedal + shift to D. Now I have to wait for all of the indicator "lights" to go through their self test routine before I can shift to D or R.

Something has definitely changed!

Yep same for me. i had an old firmware for a week and then got updated to the latest. Some mornings now I have to wait about 30 seconds before I can move out. Before that, id get in and go.

The OP worded it a bit weird. In short, it seems you cant get in and go right away with the new firmware. As I stated above.

My 2016 Model X 90D does this. I often put it in D and have to do it again because it wasn't ready. I'm going to take the seat belt advice posted above. Foot on brake, then seat belt, then D.

I put on my seat belt before I drive, but I don't press the brake until I'm ready to go. 5 1/2 years of driving Teslas, and I've only just started having a problem getting it into drive. I assume they will fix it again soon.

How about the rear view camera? Seems like that takes longer to come up after shifting into reverse, recently, than it did when I first got the car in Feb.

LOL. I have the same annoyance. We are definitely spoiled.

This happens to me on 21.9. I don't believe this is a new occurrence, unless it's much longer on later firmwares.
