I created a document to leave on cars ICEing EV charging spots

I stopped by a grocery store in Tyler, Texas yesterday.
And a ICE car was parked in one of the spaces with a Level 2 Charger.
And the parking space was one of the ones located closer to the front door.

I had this situation a few months ago ... Blink, Kroger ... sounds like the same with you. I was down to about 20-25 on the range and only had 15 to go, but I was stopping to get groceries (you know the story).

I had considered pulling behind the car, four-way a flashing, plug in, and leave my cell number on the dash out of courtesy.

But, many people love to take things the wrong way and going through my mind was
- car keyed
- towed
- prank cell calls for the rest of my life (or the life of that phone number)

I decided I would take it out on a fat cigar when I got home instead.

How about this one? Carry both, and use whichever you think best.

By the way, these are EASY to make. This was less than 10 minutes in Libre Office (Microsoft Office can also save PDFs).

Personal opinion is that we need to educate non-EV drivers long-term. While I know some anti-EV people and debate them from time to time, I feel that most are more ignorant than overtly malicious. I actually carry these windshield signs that are on the Blink network site as a PDF. You get three to a page and they are mostly reasonable sounding in tone. It's another option for us:

Not to derail the thread, but the other thing I carry is a sign so that a fellow EV driver can text my Google Voice number in case they need charge more than I do and would like to swap spaces. It also lets me note what time is ok to unplug my car if they are unable to get in touch with me. This way I avoid blocking someone who is more in need of charge than I am; as EV drivers, we also need to make sure we don't block each other, not just worry about ICE'ing.

The only thing that makes people understand is when it hits their pocketbook. We need legislators to impose fines, similar to those for parking in a handicapped spot.

^^^This!

A couple years back many EV owners lobbied hard here in FL and since July 2012 this has been Florida law:

"It is unlawful for a person to stop, stand, or park a vehicle that is not capable of using an electric recharging station within any parking space specifically designated for charging a vehicle. If a law enforcement officer finds a motor vehicle in violation of this subsection, the officer or specialist shall charge the operator or other person in charge of the vehicle in violation with a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as provided in s. 316.008(4) or s. 318.18."

ICEing started to decline almost immediately the signs went up; it still happens ocassionally but it's gotten to the point of almost being non-existent.

Instead of writing windshield notes, writing to your state representatives may prove more fruitful in the long-run.

I like Gene's cards. Nice and small. Easy to store. It's so small though, that it may just be tossed like a left over valet ticket or most other business cards I receive.
I may prefer Danal's a little more, as the larger size is more noticeable, and might actually be read. Danal, if you could please change "thier" to "their", that would be great (I can't tell you how many times I have written a letter with a glaring error like that, proofed it a hundred times and still missed it. It always takes someone else to find it).
Amped's note is pretty good too, though perhaps a little too aggressive for me, and maybe a little wordy. I may want to have a few of those around when someone really ticks me off. Ultimately, I may create my own with a combination of the Danal's and Amped's.

Small detail but you went so fast you forgo to proofread/spellcheck. *THEIR ;) Sorry I had to be one of those!

Gene's card needs an edit too:
"...trying to help the air we breathe safer for you..." Needs a verb?

I am amuzed my gramer/spel cheacker didn'ot ketch that!

I will fix it and re-upload tonight. :)

Also, Gene, I like the business card, a lot.

One other tiny detail. I think it reads a little better to say: "This is most likely an oversight on your part" rather than "This is mostly likely an oversight on your part". Small nit but thought I'd point it out since we are cleaning things up.
