I killed Jimmy Hoffa.
Just kidding. I started the process of trading up to a 2015 P85D.
Found the car I wanted based on mileage and features, and clicked the Request Photos button on 3/29.
Got 33 1600x1200-resolution photos and studied them looking for any issues.
Nothing major appeared to be evident.
Contacted Tesla about it on 3/30, within an hour or so (on a Saturday) got a reply with the CarFax.
CarFax was clean, and shows it to be a one-owner, personal lease car in Texas near Houston.
Shipping from Texas to Baltimore = $2000.
Thought about stuff, crunched numbers, watched the asking price drop a couple hundred bucks each day.
Contacted my credit union about the car and gave them the info.
Clicked the button to put deposit onto my Amex card on 4/3.
Sent a few emails back and forth during this time about trade-in, etc.
Contacted insurance company on 4/12 and uploaded the insurance info.
Completed all 6/6 tasks on the Tesla site yesterday 4/13.
Model S P85D
All-Wheel Drive
Midnight Silver Metallic Paint
All Glass Panoramic Roof
21" Grey Turbine Wheels
Grey Next Generation Seats
Carbon Fiber Décor
Black Alcantara Headliner
Carbon Fiber Spoiler
Tesla Red Brake Calipers
Autopilot Hardware 1 with Convenience Features
Premium Interior and Lighting
Smart Air Suspension
Ultra High Fidelity Sound
Subzero Weather Package
Now it's Tom Petty time: The waiting is the hardest part.
Surprised a Texas car would have the Subzero package. Might never have been used. I will definitely give it some use in PA.
