Yes you, just keep in mind the referral supercharger miles are valid for 6 months after your friend takes delivery. In some case you will need to follow up with Tesla if they dont show in your account
That's strange, my referral miles were valid for a year, not six months.

One can used their own referral code?!Yes, to confirm, mine is 1 year as well from my delivery date. I referred myself.

THNX for the clarification!Yes, but you can not use the referral code you just got now for ordering a tesla to get any benefit for your current order.
People that "referred themselves" have referral codes from previously delivered tesla products. So if you have ordered (and had delivered) some other tesla product previously, you already would have a referral code and could self refer yourself.
if you just got a referral code (as the OP in this thread was talking about), you didnt have one before you ordered, and tesla will not go back and retroactively add your own referral code to your own order when you have not taken delivery of any tesla products at all yet.
TL ; DR, your referral code is active to refer others if you havent taken delivery yet, but you cant self refer yourself unless you have taken delivery of some tesla product or other (cars) or, alternatively, have ordered something through tesla energy.

I too created a Tesla acct. first. Ordered 14-50 cable. In my case, I created a Tesla Account first which created my referral code. Later when I ordered my first Tesla, I used that same code when I ordered mine and once that vehicle was delivered, I was awarded the 1,000 miles, good for 12 months.
Just found out that , here in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Only the purchaser get 1500km, the referral guy get nothing!
