Wha does your Tesla app look like for the performance? He’s a screen shot of mine , is there supposed to be a red line under duel motor ?

Yes, you should have a redline under dual motor. Might want to give Tesla a call!
Have you tried using any free apps to check your 0-60 time for reference?
Not yet , I’m just bringing it to the delivery/service center. Definitely not as fast as demo car I drove

I had the same issue as OP. At delivery this past weekend the software under Tesla T logo showed LongRange Dual Motor. Not underlined red as expected for performance. The delivery specialist took the car back and spoke with service manager at my request. According to him the car had the performance hardware but it just didn't have the proper software. They took it back to the shop and within 30 minutes it was back with the red underline in the software.
The window sticker i got says LongRange AWD as the title right up top. But in the delivery configuration section (right side) where the options are listed, it has Performance All Wheel Drive (and a $29K price tag). I checked the sticker for a P3D+ that's on the Internet and it shows Performance as the title instead.
I guess I am not sure if I believe my hardware being performance. Is there a way to check to be sure? Part numbers, etc. ? The car is fast alright although I have no way to test the 3.5s claim.

This sounds logical to me as well. Would love to know if this is in fact confirmed. Just out of curiosity.
I have the same exact issue , I payed for a P3D- and received a regular awd. My app , car and window sticker make no mention of performance. The acceleration is definitely slower than 3.5 .After going back and forth with calls and delivery center I decided I'm returning the car today and reordering. Nobody can confirm if performance is just software and the service tech recommended taking it back and reordering. At the end of the day that may give me peace of mind I wasn't screwed on any hardware differences.
Sounds like you are talking to the wrong people. At the worst, they should be able to get the serial numbers off the drive units and verify, then flip the model in software.
(OK super worst, swap both drive units, would take less than a day)
I received two "Window Stickers"
One is 17"x11" and looks like it's a real "sticker". It doesn't show any "Software Upgrades" including "Performance". It shows "Dual Motor - $19K". I got a Second "Window Sticker" 8.5" x 11" in the folder with other paper work and it has all the Software Options and prices and says "Performance Dual Motor - $29K".

So you're going to return the car rather than let them fix it? Does your car show Performance underlined under Dual Motor if you tap the Tesla icon above the map?
Claiming that the car "feels slower" than 3.5 seconds is meaningless unless you took the car to an actual track and tested it or used a testing device to validate that it's actually slower than it is supposed to be.
You should by all means get what you paid for, but this almost sounds like some kid who spent $300 on an iPhone and is returning it because of a speck of dust under the screen.
It does not have a red underline on the screen , nor does the app , also the window sticker does not have it listed as performance. Speed is not performance speed so the only thing indicating performance is the price I paid and purchase agreement.Why would I not return it
On top of that the service tech does not feel confident or comfortable in just pushing a software update

You wouldn't return it if they can reconfigure the software and turn it into a performance.
There are two options for Tesla to solve this problem;
1. Flip the switch and turn your car into a P car.
2. Exchange your car for another one.
What I guess I don't understand is how you even left the delivery center with your car not being a P version car.... and, why the service center people didn't immediately address this. Did they think you were going to be okay with paying an extra $10,000 for performance you aren't getting? This doesn't make much sense.
Yes, the red line means the vehicle is configured in software as Performance.
A performance car can also be configured as plain AWD with lower power/ performance limits, it would not have the red line.
Bottom line is it’s wrong. Should I take my car and be happy with it? I’d be more than willing to take a software update it they would flat out say it’s strictly software. The fact nobody at Tesla can answer this is beyond ridiculous. I get 8 people saying there are hardware differences and 2 says software. I’m sitting at the service center waiting for an answer.
It's clear there is a software difference. There has been a lot of discussion/speculation on this thread about hardware differences/binning of motors, etc.. If you are at the SC right now, it would be really interesting if you could try to get one of the service techs to tell you (assuming they would need to know) and actually show you if there is indeed a hardware difference if they claim there is (e.g. different part number on a motor).
There is a hardware difference, however your car may very well have that difference installed and only needs the software setting changed.
It could also be the drive units are not P rated, in which case they could swap the drive units or else you would need to get a different car.
I hope they resolve it shortly for you.
I’m in the exact same situation, waiting for Tesla to tell me how this will be resolved. I’ve had my car about two weeks before realizing it wasn’t P3D-. I did notice stickers on the inside edges of my doors that list build info like paint color, and they say “no performance chassis”. Is that just for P3D+?
