If I Change My 19's To 21's, Do I Need To Have Tesla "recalibrate The Firmware"?

I'm getting my 21 in wheels so and I saw on the unplugged website that if you use their lowering kit that you must have the "Tesla 21" wheel/tire calibration". So what I'm wondering is what is the calibration and do I need it if I get new 21" wheels, regardless of whether or not I use the unplugged lowering kit??
