... might we potentially see raw materials shortages needed to make the batteries in the not-so-distant future? This seems to be one of the biggest arguments the anti-EV crowd is mentioning. What's the argument here, both for and against?
I was under the impression that by using commodity cells, Tesla was sort of avoiding that. If so, then I guess if this happened we'd also see a shortage of batteries for portable electronics as well (though some, like Apple, are going with flat packs -- possibly developed in-house)
