If You Reject Delivery

I'm scheduled to pickup my vehicle on 6/9, if there is a problem I wanted to know what happens and options. If a vehicle is rejected for some reason, what happens? Do they automatically order another vehicle and what if you decide Tesla had their chance and you don't want them to order another vehicle. Can you do that? Is there a $ cost to rejection like having to pay destination charges and order charge on the rejected vehicle? The purchase agreement states if you cancel y our order you are responsible to pay the order fee and destination charge.

I was told by Tesla Rep just last week you may defer delivery with no penalty. However, if many folks start deferring in anticipation of the EV tax credit, I wonder if this will change.

If you change your mind, its just the 100$ deposit

I’m guessing if the ev tax credit comes back for Tesla they will raise the prices to increase profits. You might get some benefit but unlikely t to get it all.

You can pause your reservation if you don’t want a car now but don’t want to lose your deposit. No guarantee that you’ll be locked in at the price beyond 90 days.
I did this for 15 months due to COVID and my order showed as “On Hold”.
