On one door I put the magnet template on the wrong way, so it didn't work til I moved it around - but mine are rock solid and work every time. Maybe compare the magnet position on both doors and see if there's a difference?

hansshow or whatever the name is, have a set of 4 for 150 dollars (if you find the coupon). they all illuminate. the ones on the front just apply over top of the stock kick plate and can be taken off and reset much easier than the tesla version. i picked them up and they look really nice.

if you are asking me, here is a very good video of how to install the hansshow ones. coupon should still work. i used another coupon from a different video but this video is much better.

I found a solution to the operation of the $250 Tesla OEM accessories illuminated doors sills, front only. It seems the size of the magnet in the contact piece that comes with the sills is so small and the installation tolerance so minute that activation success is difficult. The attached round magnets from Amazon create a much bigger area for the activation zone so chance of connection is so much greater. The magnets just stick on top of the contact point magnet that the OEM provides. The OEM magnet contact points that are placed on the bottom of the doors seem so small and their placement needs to be so precise. The much larger round magnets from Amazon provide a much greater margin for install and light activation success.
