As you have already seen - IF you can plan your life without a car you will save thousands. Walk, bike (electric too?) and public transport - taxis & ubers even rentals. Many options if you can work it out - reading while not driving seems an added benefit.

that used to be true, but public transport prices here grow faster then inflation. And my bikes get stolen. I have also become a misanthrope while using public transport.

I'm in no rush tough. And Model "2" would be the best for me.
