I was expecting to pick up my Model S (85) this past weekend, and was called just hours before to tell me that there's a TSB impacting my car, and it can't be released to me yet. They don't know what it is, how serious it is, or when I will be able to have my car.

I'd like to see that TSB. Any idea how I can get a copy?

    thanks.

Only people who can tell you the answer to this is Tesla. Email the ownership team or ask your Delivery Specialist. On a lighter note, be glad that Tesla does delay production when something like this crops up - it shows you that they care about the quality of each car that comes off the line to ensure once you get the car your experience will exceed all your expectations!

I'm in Princeton NJ too and am scheduled to take delivery 6/6... so far everything seems to be on track and my car is in "production complete" status. Read about some other posts similar to yours on the tesla forum though.. a bit worried because if earlier deliveries are delayed, doesn't that mean all future deliveries have to be pushed back until the earlier deliveries are made?

Perhaps they are waiting for parts to do the battery shield retrofit. I'm not sure if all news cars get this at the factory or if it's done at the service center before delivery. When I had asked for the retrofit from Springfield NJ the other week while it was In for service they couldn't do it because they didn't have the parts. It's possible it's just some standard TSB or something that they just want to get done now. I wouldn't worry about it but if I were you I'd be calling too because I would also want to know what exactly it is holding it up.

apparently there was a complete delivery halt for all vehicles across the board as there was a quality check that needed confirmation by the supplier for the metal crossbar that sits behind the dashboard, per a local NJ owner who just received confirmation from Tesla that the vendor gave the ok and now all cars are being released to customers. they did it as a precautionary measure till they received official word from the vendor.
