Hi

We have a Model X imported from USA, the testing authority over here now require proof of electrical safety, specifically ECE Reg. 100.01

For other manufacturers we can obtain documentation proving this but with Tesla, not so easy!

Does anybody have any experience or contacts in regards to this?

Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,

I have the same problem with a hybrid Ford. In other member states electric cars caravans and refigerated trucks (all that have high voltage wiring) required to arrive to a MOT inspection with an electrician declaration that the high voltage parts are OK. So it seems to be not the manufacturer's declaration but a recurring inspection (not sure, the IVA staff is not really aware what they demand, my other similar car passed without it).

In the UK caravans are also required to be checked by a qualified electrician in every 3 years. However I have not found yet such electrician around Southampton who would declare his methods are done according ECE100.01.

Please let me know if you have found someone.

Might be worth asking someone who works in the Electricity Distribution business, or that handles installs for 3-phase to business, factories etc - if you know such a person.

However you may find they are HVAC rather than HVDC - maybe larger scale Solar, Wind renewables installer etc ?

Or even ...... someone who installs the power supplies to the SuC network in the UK - which will be 3-phase HVAC to HVDC. Could be ideal if you know a company/person that is handling SuC installs in the UK.

Hi, thanks for your feedback - the DVSA here require proof direct rfom the manufacturer and it must be VIN specific. We have to do it all the time for other makes / models but Tesla do not seem to have anybody specifically there to assist homologation / conformity issues..
