Yeah, it shouldn't. I was taking issue with "In corner cases the main thing is to just stop as quickly as possible." I think there are corner cases that will require a response other than stopping.

A very long time ago my driver’s training teacher in high school taught us what he called “defensive driving”. that included being aware of possible escape routes in the event of an emergency where simply stopping would not prevent a crash. I still use the principles he taught us. Simply stopping is not always the best answer in my 67 years of driving experience.
